Eazy Peazy Parties
I chatted with Carina Schofield and Zoe O’Neill who together started up their party business in 2016, in Hemel Hempstead.

Tell us a bit about you and your business
Eazy Peazy Parties is a start up business created by us, both mums to offer fun and exciting children’s parties for 0 to 10 year olds; from soft play fun to inflatable disco parties.
Between us we have six children (aged from 7 years to 11 months) and so we have been to many, many children’s parties. We used our own experiences (good and bad!) and also spoke to lots of other parents and children to work out what makes an excellent party. We have used everything we discovered to provide parties where everyone enjoys the celebrations.
What do your parties offer?
The name of our business was chosen to reflect our whole ethos — to offer Eazy Peazy Parties: parties that are flexible and meet all of your needs.
We are flexible in terms of party type: we can offer a complete inflatable disco party for 3–10 year olds, or a complete soft play disco party for 0–3 year olds. Or you can select any / all of our equipment to create your own party. And it’s not just birthday parties — we can provide the party for any occasions when children need to be entertained (birthdays, weddings, christenings).
We are flexible in terms of location: We can offer a permanent party venue with a large, separate food hall (at Hobbs Hill Wood School, Hemel Hempstead) (You Come To The Party!) or you can hire our equipment to a location convenient to you (The Party Comes To You!).
We are also flexible in terms of budget and time — you can add on any optional extras including food, birthday cake, party bags, sweetie cones. So we can provide a party where you don’t have to lift a finger! You can just turn up to the party and have fun. (you provide the children, we’ll provide the party).
Bouncy castles have come a long way since we were little! All of our equipment is brand new. We have Bluetooth speakers and LED disco balls with built in lighting shows and music reactive lights.
What makes a great party?
When we chatted to other parents and children about the parties they loved, and the ones they didn’t enjoy, we found out that for most children (boys and girls alike) they just want to be able to run around as much as possible, dance and jump and make some noise! The parents we spoke to talked about the need for flexibility in terms of budget, they also wanted to be able to sit down and have a cuppa whilst the party was going on.
What makes a great party bag?
Party bags (or party ‘favours’ as they are sometimes called now) are a great way for children to thank people for coming to their party. These don’t have to be expensive though and most children are happy as long as they get something!. This could just be a slice of birthday cake in a bag. If you do want to include something else with it there are a number of options. Small plastic bits and pieces are no longer as popular with children (or parents — if they ever were!). Instead, favourites at the moment seem to be something crafty the children can take home to create (e.g. growing a grass head or decorating a mug) or a reading book or sticker book. And of course, as we all know, children love sweets. Children always seem to ask for sweets when they are leaving a party so sweetie cones are a winner.
