Who am I?

My name is Pacific, but my real one is Jared. I am an avid gamer who decided to make a YouTube channel in the summer of 2015. I really wanted to get YouTube famous, and I thought that fame would be easy. I was wrong. My goals have changed now, and I really just want to share my gaming experiences with people!

So why would I, a gamer, start a newspaper/blog type thing that involves writing? Well, part of it is personal branding, but part of it is also the fact that I want to share thoughts and ideas in a written format. I also think that this would be a great place to share my video ideas.

I think I should share a little bit about myself. I have been gaming since I was young. When I mean young, I mean I cannot remember a time when I didn’t know what a video game and video game controller was. My brothers where the primary people who gamed with me and showed me what to do. I mainly started on platformers and Zelda games, but later branched out once I got a GameBoy Advanced and Xbox 360.

Once 2011 hit, things changed. Specifically, I got introduced to YouTube. I started watching people like PewDiePie and Markiplier. These two guys, and eventually Mat Pat from Game Theory, FaZe Jev, and Peanut Butter Gamer, all inspired me to start a YouTube channel in 2015. However, the channel was made for vanity reasons, thus making the creation of YouTube videos not fun. It was not until the Winter of 2016 that I started creating videos for a better reason: sharing my experiences and having fun. It was at this point that I allowed myself to experiment and try new things.

All of this leads up to know, when I am writing this and listening to 90’s rock at 11 P.M. I guess this Medium publication/blog is another one of my experiments, but I think it should stay. If there is anything I have learned from all of my successes and failures in YouTube, it’s that the worst I can do is fail, and failure leads to learning. :)
