students identities matter and teachers need to support that identity in all students. A way that we can accomplish this is by allowing students to share who they are and what makes them and their families unique.

I love this Silvia, and I agree with you 100%. Last week in our classroom, students were given the opportunity of writing their autobiography and telling us the story of their life. Not only were the students engaged, but it helped me know my students on a whole new level and my relationship and connection with them grew. Loved your insights!
