Open letter to the Italian people: thanks for the Roman conquest.
Dear Italian people,
Given the recent statements of López Obrador in which he asks that our King Felipe VI apologizes for the Spanish conquest, I have decided to publish this open letter addressed to the head of state of the Italian Republic, Sergio Matarella, in order to ask him to say “you’re welcome“ to the Spaniards.
On behalf of all those who have an affinity with my words, I wanted to say that the history of the countries, as Reverte says, is full of chiaroscuros. I see very convenient today, March 26, 2019, day in which the Spaniards observe our history, go further back and thank the cultural contributions that the Romans gave to our current Spain. Let us condemn the past violent acts and appreciate the gifts that were given to us. Blessed are the writings of Seneca.

Carta abierta al pueblo italiano: gracias por la conquista romana.
Estimado pueblo italiano,
Dadas las recientes declaraciones que ha hecho López Obrador en las que pide que nuestro rey Felipe VI se disculpe por la conquista española me he decidido a publicar esta carta abierta dirigida al jefe de estado de la República Italiana, Sergio Matarella, a fin de darle las gracias por la invasión romana y pedirle que nos diga “de nada” a los españoles.
En nombre de todos aquellos que sientan afinidad con mis palabras, quería decir que la historia de los países, como bien dice Reverte, está llena de claroscuros. Veo muy conveniente hoy, 26 de marzo de 2019, día en el que los españoles observamos nuestra historia, ir más atrás aún y agradecer las contribuciones culturales que los romanos brindaron a nuestra España actual. Condenemos los actos violentos pasados y apreciemos las perlas que se nos brindaron. Benditos sean los escritos de Séneca.
