What is Quantum Computing?

Quantum computing is a type of computing that uses quantum-mechanical phenomena, such as superposition and entanglement, to perform operations on data. Unlike classical computing, which uses bits that are either 0 or 1 to represent information, quantum computing uses quantum bits or qubits that can be in multiple states simultaneously, allowing for much faster processing of large amounts of data.

Quantum computing is based on the principles of quantum mechanics, which is the branch of physics that describes the behavior of matter and energy at a microscopic level. In classical computing, bits can only have one of two values, either 0 or 1, whereas in quantum computing, qubits can be in a superposition of both 0 and 1 at the same time.
