August 2018
I’ve watched the second series of The Handmaid’s Tale. It was so, so good. It is such a creepy scenario, the script is so well-written and the casting is incredible. After I saw the first series, I read Margaret Atwood’s novel. Atwood is amazing.
I’ve read, or rather, am still reading, Vasily Grossman’s Life and Fate. Not gotten too far in yet — still have a dissertation to finish — but I am definitely gripped. I think it is something about the world and time it depicts, and Grossman’s understanding of it. A proper review to come!

I’ve looked at Tate Modern’s exhibition ‘Picasso 1932: Love, fame and tragedy’. It was good, although I am not really a big fan of Picasso. I just do not feel that drawn to him as I am to works by other artists, I guess. I loved the format though! To just show one year — and especially such a productive year as 1932 was for Picasso — really gave me something. We have all seen the famous cubist paintings, but the works he did this year had escaped me, which is perhaps not that surprising but still. It helped tell a story about what shaped him and his work even though it all took place in just one year. It would be interesting to see this with other artists, perhaps the really famous ones you already know so much about. To just dive deep into a brief moment of their lives and work.
This one below was my favourite, but sadly I cannot remember the title (but I do know the year…):

I’ve eaten the most amazing truffle pasta at Pane Vino in Stockholm. Most things we tried on the menu was amazing actually. Big #recommendrecommend.

I’ve travelled to Stockholm. And Bollnäs! My best friend got married and it was such a beautiful wedding. Stockholm in the summer is probably one of the best things I know.

I’ve bought a really nice Adidas jacket at a kilo sale in Peckham.
