My Top Three Skills

I believe it is important to stay organized, some take better care of their physical shelves and some for their mental shelves, both are valuable and need to stay clear of clutter. My Love and attention to detail has proven to be useful to more than just the physical things, because of my precise attention to detail I can be organized and quickly learn and improve on my abilities. When I compartmentalize my abilities in a united organized way, I feel like I shelve them in a special place in my brain and it never goes away, yes maybe some let their abilities get “rusty” without practice but to me feels like they just need a little dusting off from time to time.
Organized
How often do you lose your phone or even lose your keys while holding them, how many people still remember phone numbers and passwords to most accounts, do you see the importance of being organized here? Whether I’m expressing my memorization or organization skill I can combine the two to become most efficient and resourceful. For me staying organized gives me a sense of satisfaction and entertainment. I have a specific place for mostly-everything and I will always find it or know exactly where to look, It also kinda makes me pretty resourceful as well but we’re talking about organization right now. I feel that staying organized had been ingrained in me from my upbringing and culture, my mother would always make me put away and clean up the slightest of messes. Thank God it’s not like her Mom did to her when one shirt wasn’t folded correctly the whole closet would be on the floor to teach my mom a lesson, jeesh, am I right?!
When I worked in logistics my organization skills came through for me more than I can express in words, but I’ll give it a try. In track and trace type of work, one must be able to sort quickly through files both in actual cabinets and in emails/programs online. Now, this might sound funny to you guys as it did to me, but when I came into the job they didn’t have a filter system set-up in their emails, they had many different truckload and tracking offers coming in all at once. I brought up the issues to them, but all of them were content working the same way they always did. Before I came in no one wanted to put in a few more minutes of research to organize it and make it more comprehensible for everybody, not even their tech guys. So I sorted it out for the team and made labels, filters, and tabs. It was so refreshing not having to waste time deleting worthless spam and looking for the emails directed to your line of work that it made lots of room to be more productive for everyone in the company. The result of clearing away the clutter and separating what’s important from what isn’t was so satisfying and delightful for everyone that it even earned me a raise without me asking for it. Another way I’ve had to stay organized was when I worked as a stock clerk and product organizer in T.J.Maxx. A stock clerk unpackages the goods, sorts, and label them before putting them out on the sales floor. But being a product organizer I was also in charge of organizing the products on the sales floor in a visually appealing manner to create attractive displays making it more desirable and easily accessible for the customer. I genuinely enjoyed it, not only did I get to play with organizing and repositioning items but I also got to express my artistic spirit in the areas the store made the most profit.

Quick Learner
Since I’m also a little creative it gives me the ability to learn visually, I see work done and I can understand it and mimic it. I combine this quick learner ability with my organization skill because I feel like I’m compartmentalizing these actions with similar things I’ve done before or just by putting myself in that pretend mindset of performing those actions and then being successful at it. It might sound complicated but to me, it’s all a form or organization. Now, this is more with the physical ability to replicate work but a good description of this is given by Boss at the Pizzaria as a compliment, “I can show you once or twice the method and style of how to cut each product in their way and you will replicate it, in the same way, a thousand more times”. While others would take more time to “get the hang it”, I need much less trial and error before I perfect it to my best ability.
There are many other great ways this ability has cleared a path for me to move up in my previous jobs as well. In just five months of working in T.J.Maxx, I quickly got moved up to more serious responsibilities. I got to learn 6 different job roles, everyone in T.J. starts as a cashier, then I was moved up to a sales floor associate, fitting room attendant, stock clerk, markdowns, and lastly product organizer. I also got moved up to more responsibilities when I worked in logistics, I’ve quickly learned all the details to be a great tracker — which was what I was initially hired for — but also progressed to learn how to bid and win loads and dispatch the right units for the job, as well as help out with there billing systems on the side when they were short-handed. Being an organized, resourceful, quick learner also makes me very well detail-oriented.

Detail Oriented
I love the details! Thinking about details give me an “ASMR” feeling, when I would work on my art projects in school I would spend hours just modifying a detail. The teacher would say “Move on Sofia! don’t be such a perfectionist”, but I enjoyed the details because they were what made the whole project so special, without those details the project would not hold or present itself in the same way. I always thought I wanted to be an architect or engineer growing up, my eyes would always trace all the edges in the room I would focus on the design and precision of the paintings on the walls, and all forms of patterns and shapes. When I was little someone told me that’s what architects do they draw and create models, focus on the details, then I realized after many art classes and one drafting class that perpendicular and horizontal black-and-white lines in architecture weren’t for me. Later with many more art classes and projects I realized I like to be different I like to go out of the lines from time to time and modify my work or projects to make it better whether it’s required or not, thankfully my art teachers allowed it and encouraged me.
Being detail-oriented helped me with my cutting at the pizzeria because I was observant and diligent in the work I was therefore precise when I accomplished my tasks. In Tracking for logistics I needed to pay attention to each one of the drive’s locations as well as build the loads files and stay in close connections with the customers. I also filed Invoices in logistics, I would compute, record, and proofread data and other information, such as records and reports, to prepare all documents and obtain all documents necessary for legal circulation. I love details, I wasn’t kidding, over time my attention to detail has helped in various ways to be more specific and precise in my many job roles.
