5 Things All Successful People Do That You Don’t
We all want to be successful, right? Right. So, what do these majorly successful people do to work their way to the top? Read on to find out!
1. They attend free online webinars.
Yes, there are free online webinars that only require your email to sign-up. They’re usually about an hour to two hours long so plan accordingly. It’s best to keep a notebook close by as the people giving them (if you do your research and find someone good) provide a plethora of information on the topic. Try to find webinars that are specialized (i.e. one on all Facebook marketing) as they offer the most resources.
2. They listen to podcasts daily.
Podcasts are absolutely free and you can listen to them on your way to work/home. Some of the best ones are The MFCEO Project, The #AskGaryVee Show, and TED Radio Hour. You can listen to them online or directly through your phone if you have iTunes or the Podcasts app from Apple. Bonus: Listen to them at work with headphones. You’ll get more work done because it’ll cancel out any background noise and allow you to get “in the zone”.
3. They don’t go by the traditional 8-hr work day.
The most successful people aren’t working 9 to 5. They get up early and knock out their hardest tasks first. Some of them need only 4 solid hours of hustle to get done what they need to do for the day. They then spend the rest of the time learning about their field of work so they can become the best experts around. Work hard, but work smart. Make a to-do list of 5 things you must get done for the day. Try to knock them out before noon.
4. They keep up with social media trends.
Whether or not their area of work is in a media or marketing realm, they stay on top of social media trends because they know that their best source of eyeballs to their product is going to come from those around the internet. The social media titans are quickly becoming the best resource to use to connect to those around you. Your network is everything as a successful person. Utilize Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube to solidify your connections.
5. They welcome failure.
Successful people are in-tune to their failures. But if you’re successful, doesn’t that mean you don’t fail? WRONG! People who have “made it” know that to get to the top, you have to climb from the bottom. It’s not for the faint of heart. Some of the best leaders have failed countless times before they ever saw results. You can’t judge someone by the middle of their journey if you never witnessed all the struggle at the start. Instead of seeing failure as a capital “L” scribbled on their forehead, successful people take it as a learning experience and use what they learned to stay ahead of the game.
