How did we modernize the user interface of the POS system in accordance with the expectations of the customer’s clients?

Our client is a leader in the fashion retail sector that focuses on automating sales and other operational procedures for fashion retailers. Our client had developed its own proprietary software more than 20 years prior.

But everything is evolving; every two to three years, new UI/UX design trends emerge in the IT industry. Our client has to have the most recent software because they work in the fashion business.

Therefore, our customer made the decision to completely redesign the UI/UX of their core module, which is the client’s side of the POS system and includes the workspaces of a cashier and a store clerk.

In the process of implementation we encountered the following challenges:

  • Our customer had no idea what the product should look like
  • The existing client user interface was not suitable for the redesign of the approved concept
  • The source code was not well documented, structured and written
