I mostly agree with the sentiments in this article, but there is one point that I think must be made. Look at any fact-checking organization’s assessment of the two presumptive candidates and you will realize the following:
Donald Trump is dishonest.
Hillary Clinton seems dishonest.
People mistrust Clinton because of her power, her insider-ness, her guarded approach to public campaigning, etc… But not because she has proven herself to be untrustworthy. Certainly she has exaggerated some things, taken things out of context, told some half-truths. She is not perfectly 100% honest by any stretch of the imagination. BUT.. If you fact-check what she says, and I encourage you to do so, she is very consistently an honest person.
Trump, on the other hand, is not. Fact-check him as well. Please. He consistently seems to say whatever pops into his head at any given moment, regardless of meaning or context.
Now, I’m not interested in arguing these points, because they are facts. Facts are indisputable things that are not influenced by your opinion. I’m not telling you who to support or anything of that nature. I’m just telling you some facts. Hillary is more honest than you realize, and Donald is as big a liar as we all know him to be. Why not do some research on this point so you can feel comfortable with this information and use it to inform your thinking?
I only say all of this because this article is based entirely on the premise of “both of these candidates are liars, and we all know it”, and that is an incorrect statement that begs correction… It has now been corrected.
As you were.
