My head was travelling through time and space, spinning out of control,

and my hands were itching at the thought of finally being home.

But then I stumbled through the door and it wasn’t the same,

and I so badly wanted to leave this unfamiliar place.

Things have changed, I repeat to myself in my attic-like head;

my thoughts unclear, my emotions unsaid.

I was in the in-between world of my past and future selves,

stuck in a place where I couldn’t be heard, seen, or felt.

I forgot who I was, or maybe I just didn’t know,

but until then, I must set out and discover a world of my own.
