I agree with this completely. I have noticed a trend where people eagerly click on the recommend button when they have not even read the article. In some hilarious occasions, I have found my number of likes exceed the number of reads for a particular article. What it does is make the recommendation lose it’s value entirely. Personally, I prefer comments to recommends.
