Maybe so but nothing else in our life time might be. Same way that every product Apple releases is compared to the iPhone. Apple Watch doesn’t need to have that kind of sales to be ‘successful.’

And AR doesn’t need to entirely shift how we compute in order for it to be impactful. At the same time, I fully agree — the true power of AR will be seen via a new hardware that’s designed entirely for it. But that doesn’t mean there cannot be meaningful improvements to our current phone/apps.
