Wading into the political swamp of Israel/Palestine is always fraught. It's hard even to be neutral and want the best for both sides. Each doesn't see the other as worthy of much, if any consideration.

One exception, an a notable one, is David Grossman. I'm reading his book A horse walks into a bar. He's one of the neutrals, or rather someone who advocates equally for both sides, and it's absolutely stunning how he does it.

I think, also BTW, that you've played the best hand possible in what is a rigged game. Brilliant writing!
