Soleolico

Soleolico will be presented on October 6th at the Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander (Spain) as an unparalleled renewable generation technology to date. It’s a pioneering and revolutionary solution in the field of renewable energy, uniting wind and solar energy production, destined to play a fundamental role in the global energy transition.

After more than ten years of research, an investment of over 5 million euros, and the evolution of over 30 prototypes, Soleolico emerges as the world’s first wind turbine that integrates photovoltaic panels into its blades, or what is referred to as “sails” in Soleolico terminology. These sails are wind-oriented through “blade guiding”, a patented magnetic system that calibrates the wind orientation of each sail to extract maximum energy.

Soleolico presents a disruptive technology with international patents that combine wind and solar generation as well as storage in a single unit, providing “green” energy 24 hours a day. Additionally, Soleolico incorporates a unique coating with patented technology that absorbs and transforms CO2, “cleaning” the air we breathe.

In celebration of this presentation, a Soleolico unit will be installed in the outdoor area of the Palacio de la Magdalena until October 9th. With this event, Santander reinforces its active contribution to the energy transition, strengthening its strategic commitment to sustainability.

Soleolico is the world’s “first technological tree” that coexists harmoniously with its environment, generating clean energy with minimal impact and eliminating greenhouse gases. The coating is 3D printed by LaMáquina using Pure.Tech technology, which absorbs CO2.

Its wind capacity is distinctive, with performance up to 25% higher than current wind turbines, making it more profitable with a similar investment. Additionally, when installed alongside other Soleolico units, the feedback effect between them can increase efficiency by approximately 15%.

Soleolico presents itself as an optimal and versatile hybrid generation solution, suitable for both self-consumption and distributed generation, or in generation parks with grid injection.

Soleolico combines science and nature, is environmentally friendly, and bird-friendly: it generates no noise, operates at a low speed, and its attractive aesthetics are customizable to adapt to the environment and customer needs. Moreover, as a significant innovation with patented technology, Soleolico allows the adaptation of solar panels to display the desired image or corporate colors, or even the insertion of advertising.

EVENT AGENDA AND SPEAKERS

The media presentation, which will take place in the Gala Dining Room of the Palacio de la Magdalena at 11:00 a.m., will be chaired by Gema Igual Ortiz, Mayor of Santander, and will feature speeches by Carlos Serrada Bertrand, President and Founder of Soleolico; Pablo Fernández de la Torre, CEO and Partner of Soleolico; Roberto de Arquer, Marketing Director and Partner of Soleolico; and Rafael González Alonso, CEO of Izpitek Solar, the company responsible for manufacturing the composite photovoltaic panels.

One of the speakers from the afternoon session, Alicia Carrasco, CEO of the European energy strategy consulting firm olivoENERGY, who has previously worked at companies such as Tesla, Siemens Digital Grid, and Standard & Poor’s, will also be presenting. She is also the co-founder and CEO of Entra Agregación y Flexibilidad, the Spanish Association of Electricity Agents and Companies and Energy Services to promote demand flexibility. Carrasco will speak about “New business models and innovation for the energy transition” during her presentation.

Some of the speakers will also be available for interviews during the press conference. Later, a group photo will be taken outside the building with a Soleolico unit installed for the occasion.

In the afternoon, in the same venue, a special session has been organized, also chaired by the Mayor, aimed at national and international institutional representatives, technology companies, energy sector consultants, and leaders in the energy transition.

This series of presentations will be hosted by Dustin Plantholt, a prestigious American journalist and editor renowned in the world of technology and disruptive media for his significant contributions.

In addition to the Soleolico presentation, the event will feature other interesting presentations by experts in the field. Betania Allo, a specialist lawyer in Emerging Technologies and Cybersecurity, will speak remotely from Saudi Arabia on “The challenges of cybersecurity in the future of energy”. Allo has worked in public policy for over a decade, held executive positions globally, and has extensive experience in technology projects, as well as programs against terrorism and cybercrime at the United Nations.

To discuss “Steps towards a sustainable horizon”, the organizers will have four internationally renowned experts. Adam Roosevelt, CEO of AR International Group of Companies, an expert in renewable energy and security, will present the perspective from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the same panel, Mark Lindsay will address the perspective from Africa. He serves as an advisor on energy, environment, and health issues at the Livingston Group (including Africa GreenTec) and previously worked as an assistant to President Clinton in the Office of Management and Administration (M&A). Steve Watkins, CEO of Access America Association, will offer his perspective on the United States as a former congressman and business consultant in the energy sector (remotely). Max Zammit, Mayor of Ta’Xbiex and Vice President of the Eastern Region of Malta, a country where renewable energy plays a fundamental role, will speak about the European perspective.

Attendance is expected, both at the session and the subsequent gala dinner, from industry leaders, investors, and international representatives from countries such as China, Greece, Monaco, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Georgia, Lithuania, Jordan…; representatives from national companies like Alener or Imedexa, or international companies like Kongsberg; and spokespersons from sector entities such as Alberto Ramos, Director of the Gómez Pardo Foundation, among others.
