House With Flat Roof Shocks Newport, Rhode Island
Nicole Dieker

The last empty lot on my street just sold, and I — a renter! — have been mildly freaking out that the property listing said the lot could accommodate square footage that would be way, way out of scale with the mostly smaller, more modest homes in my neighborhood. So, despite how alienating rich people can be when they go on about “preserving the character of the neighborhood,” or whatever, I sympathize.

Also, that house is as ugly as sin.
