Fear of what? You name it. Constant fear. Of everything. Of not measuring up, of not being the best of the best of the brightest, which belief is what led undergrad professors to recommend them to their former) graduate schools in the first place. Fear of going more broke than one already is. Every day. Fear of not finding a job pales in comparison with fear of returning home with less than one left with. Fear of feeling shame.
