How Solodev CMS 8 Saves you a Fortune on SEO
Let your website hit the ground running with automated SEO

If you’ve been involved in business of any kind in the past two decades, then you’ve heard of the three character acronym ‘SEO’ before. To most, SEO is some sorcery out of a Harry Potter novel that magically brings your website to the top of organic search results in popular search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo. In reality, SEO is hard work and the result of a potentially lengthy process that can deliver big returns when done skillfully. SEO success can be generally achieved by having a correctly coded website so that it’s relevant to search queries, attaining credibility with search engines in that many other websites link to you (known as “backlinks”), and URL normalization to make web pages accessible via multiple URLS, all of which count towards the page’s link popularity.
The days of manually coding your website page by page and laboriously typing in SEO-friendly Meta Data are becoming numbered. CMS (Content Management Systems) platforms are beginning to take on much of the heavy lifting of typical SEO activities. Additionally, social media platforms have built their own Meta Information that enable web developers to gain more visibility using Facebook’s Open Graph or Twitter Cards. Because content is now cross-channel, the market has forced new channels to adapt and create the ability for SEO on a cross-channel basis.
With Solodev CMS 8, we’ve developed the ability for businesses to add their Facebook and Twitter account URLs when creating new websites. This generates appropriate social media Meta Data based on website and web page content. Furthermore, simply creating new web pages also dynamically creates normalized SEO-friendly URLS allowing your web pages to be accessed via multiple canonical URLS, image “alt” tags, meta keywords and descriptions based on content — all without the business even having to think about it. This is a fully automated process that can help drive 1st page organic search results. It gets the process started with pre-populated Meta Data so that your website hits the ground running — but then allows you to modify the Meta Information as appropriate and potentially offset some of the fees that you’re likely to spend with an SEO agency on an annual basis.
So let’s take a step back and start with these three little characters: Search Engine Optimization. SEO is not a technology or programming language — it is simply a marketing term for using ‘best practices’ when developing or coding a website so that it is friendly to the “spiders” that comb through the internet every second of every day. These “spiders” crawl and index web pages and rank them for display in search results based on a search engine’s algorithm that takes into account content, relevance, and the amount of direct links back to a site throughout the web.
In many CMS platforms, SEO tools are either a plugin, a separate suite of product offerings, or a manual process where you type all of your Meta Information into form fields on each web page. While it’s better than coding a site using a text editor, it still requires that you type in all of your Meta Data and create SEO friendly URLs which can be time consuming and at times, not entirely possible. With the recently released Solodev CMS 8, available as a SaaS solution in the AWS Marketplace (or On-Premise if required), all of this SEO-friendly data is dynamically created as you publish your pages and content updates — so that you can focus on what you do best and save a fortune in the process.
