The best time to start something is now
”Right now, today, in 2014, is the best time to start something on the internet. There has never been a better time in the whole history of the world to invent something. There has never been a better time with more opportunities, more openings, lower barriers, higher benefit/risk ratios, better returns, greater upside than now. Right now. This minute.” Kevin Kelly
This has been one of the best things to read after finishing the book Founder Stories by Jessica Livingston, which is a collection of interviews capturing the early days of Silicon Valley’s startup scene.
The startups interviewed for this book were founded in the early nineties, when the internet as we know it today did not yet exist. Reading the book, it felt like these guys could do anything they wanted, Kevin Kelly reminds us that we can too.
Everyone can. Today. Tomorrow. Anytime.
After returning to the office from vacation (you might have noticed it’s been very quiet lately), we found ourselves discussing why LifeHacker articles (like this one) keep focussing on tools, not habits. We found that the approach and people’s aspirations are far more fascinating than just the tools they use. Although we find tools incredibly interesting too.
Ok, it’s time to get back on track: What have you been working on lately?
We’re excited to see your Sparks!
