Honestly, I wasn’t surprised the smear pieces were originating from CounterPunch. I stopped going there or recommending them as an alternative source for news years ago once I noticed the subtle pattern of discrediting the truth and attacking true progressive perspectives. I actually cringe a little when I see progressives sharing from their site…the good stuff is available elsewhere.

Their “brand” is a lie. I stopped trusting them. I know how propaganda works, and how authentic journalism works…not born last night. I’m looking hard for the truth. I’m well familiar with what the lies are, and once you start spouting the lies — no matter how “cleverly” couched, from whatever “perspective” — I’m done. We. Don’t. Have. Time. For. This.

I’m fine with a different opinion, just not different facts — especially from folks who I know, know, know, know the facts. I remember when it struck me back then how the title of the site itself glaringly revealed their true mission once you saw it for what it was. Now, a lot more of us have seen it too. I’m so sorry you’ve been attacked like this, but you’re taking one for the team, girl…stay authentic. “We” know who you are. And, now more of us know who they are too. That’s a win.

We all know how the “mean girls” or “cool kids” operate and the damage they cause our society with their lies and manipulations…for the sake of entertaining themselves. Getting paid to “do what they do” as adults is a perk. (“Ha, ha, suckers!!!”)

The folks who attacked you were attacking people using the same basic linguistic tools to bully when they were in elementary school, high school, at work, etc… They may have “power” and “prestige” of some sort today somewhere, but their parents know they’ve always been manipulative liars that are a pain in the ass to be around. Their family knows they can’t be trusted.

This is who the f*ckers recruit. They look for the liars amongst the population who will do it for nothing. Money is a perk. Getting the opportunity to lie and manipulate without the repercussions they’d normally face in the real world is why they sign on. Most of them don’t care about anything else.

You can follow the money, but folks who can lie, while their hair is on fire, don’t love anything. The thrill of the attack is all they can feel. … I do concede that being able to do that has always been a very valuable skill, but at heart, love of money isn’t the motivation.

I don’t believe it’s money or ego. It’s dysfunctional ego AND money.

You’re being targeted because you are popular. Folks like you. Folks don’t like them.

Their real handlers probably aren’t pleased to see that they “burned their brand” for their personal egos. Mission fail. Something tells me this lot was about to get fired anyway.
