Staying Sane in an Insane World
Mike Fishbein

Another great piece. Humility is quickly taking second place to ego and ‘fact checking’ in the crusade to be ‘right’.

My belief is that we really know nothing at all, so just be open to new ideas, especially when they aren’t shared by the majority.

One of the many reasons I don’t like the word ‘expert’ and prefer ‘specialist’ — if you spend enough time researching or working on something you’re a specialist, but there will always be dissenting opinions. If you’ve ever been told off by an ‘expert’ and asked to have blind faith in what they’re saying — you know how hubris can cause even worse bias in the intelligent person.

I‘ll always prefer humble assholes over arrogant nice guys.
