What is the Difference between the Soul and the Spirit

There is a lot of difference when we are talking about the spirit and the soul. It is just like talking what spirit and whose soul concept here. There are many people who take these two as just one but it is not actually the same. The two terms have a big difference between them. Every person in this world is said to have both the spirit and the soul. It will live even after we die. This is all for those who want to satisfy their interest, but even after all of this a little information is still required on the topic.

Now when we are talking about the soul of a person, then that means it is the soul of a living person. Say for example, the soul of Lord Buddha was not associated with his physical body which we as of now know was called as Siddhartha Gautama Buddha. Siddhartha was born in the Nepal region and he was born a number of centuries before Lord Jesus Christ was born into this world. He was raised by his mother’s sister and his father.

Even the Buddha in his physical body was able to eat, drink and take the worldly pleasures. The spirit of Lord Buddha was after he received the light of truth and the enlightenment. All the things he did and whatever he did for the welfare of the people around was his spirit. Buddha’s spirit is considered to live even today and will continue to live forever. Spirit is something that is not associated to the body but something that lives when the physical body dies.

The soul of a person suffers from the pain, the feelings, the emotions and a lot more when the person is alive. The spirit after the death of the person is free from all these, though there are still of his wishes left to be fulfilled. Spirit continues to live with the person when the person is alive and even after when he is dead. Soul has a totally different concept. And it lives only when the person is alive. But not when he is dead.

In all, we will get all our answers only at the gate of the heaven, when we would be answering the question of choosing soul or the spirit. If our guide, our lord say Lord Jesus or Lord Buddha is there, then we would surely choose spirit. Spirit is chosen because it was this spirit only that showed us the path to good and the difference between the good and the bad. Spirit imparts life to everything and even to the soul. We can give up our soul and choose spirit in order to get into heaven.
