Climate Change — Pruitt & Trump

The Trump Administration has appointed Scott Pruitt as chief of the EPA, and he is an ardent climate change denier who sued the EPA many times when he was Attorney General of Oklahoma. Although he said during his confirmation hearings to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee that he will not question the endangerment finding of 2009 showing that greenhouse gas emissions could indeed be regulated, there is a very real possibility that Trump will try to pull out the Paris Climate Agreement. This would create global turmoil, because China, India, and even other emitters such as Russia and Japan will have much less incentive to keep or strengthen their commitments if the US does not do its part.
