Carnival of Democracy
Or a total eye wash?
Over the past few months, people all over the world have been talking about the “Carnival of Democracy”. Everybody are eagerly waiting for the results and I’m sure the media are going to have non-stop debates, opinions, view about who, why what. But this got me thinking, what’s going to change?
Let us for a moment step back and look at how this affects the common man. Once the new PM steps in, he’s going to probably give some new orders. Have new ideas, new visions, which is great for the country and the people. But who are the ones who actually implement these? Government officials? So what’s stopping the government officials in doing their jobs today? If the road leading to my house needs repairs, should I blame the PM for this?
So let’s assume a new PM comes in, does it mean that we are suddenly going to get transformed? What is going to change? I don’t follow politics that much but I have read some articles where the candidates promise to eradicate the common man’s problems. My question is, how? How do you suddenly bring 100 million new jobs? What are you doing different? And if you had this idea all along, then why didn’t you share it earlier? Does this mean that you are only going to help your country men if you’re brought into power?
All this looks like a big eye wash. Tomorrow when a common man wakes up in the morning, he’s not going to think about who the new Prime Minister is, he’s going to think “how do I feed my family today”.
