We are prisoners of our own thoughts!

The human mind is a complicated yet powerful thing. There’s no clear explanation for it. We have a lot of emotions which travel through our thoughts. It’s our thoughts that ultimately decide our actions. Sometimes we compiled our mind with unnecessary thoughts that are not beneficial to us. But we follow those thoughts as actions against us and become imprisoned due to it. Our thoughts disturb our peace.

Worrying is normal, but it is inevitable. The difference is that some people allow their worries to affect them while others find the strength to overlook them. It is certainly natural to worry about things that could potentially be dangerous but unnecessary worrying is only a burden.

Everyone has a different relationship with their mind. Sometimes I take risks but there are also times when I calculate everything before making a decision. Because there is no hard and fast rule to live. We made so-called RULES for our lives, not to make our lives better but to torture ourselves. The compulsion to follow the rules made us prisoners of our own thoughts. Stop getting in your own way.

There is a saying that

‘‘You can never walk through the same river twice’’.

It means you can never put your foot in the same water, it’s gone. Likewise, let your bad memories of the past go. Don’t let your past affect your present and stop worrying about the future. Step into the new water every day with the thought that this water is filled with joy, happiness, new experiences, and new stories.

Live to be happy, not to impress.
