2014 Happenings
2 min readJan 14, 2015
I got inspired to write this post when I read this and other year in review posts. I have been trying to get myself to write something, and this seemed like a great start. So here they are — notable things that I did in 2014:
- Received 2014 in company of great friends in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
- Based on my Strava account, I rode 530.9 miles, during 52 hours, climbed as high as 2,838 feet, and rode as fast as 37.1 MPH in 2014.
- Left my job at Radius after 3 years, and joined BrightRoll!
- Experienced seeing the company I work for getting acquired.
- First solo trip: Went to my home country, Colombia, and visited Cartagena. You should go!
- Attended the Grace Hopper Conference along with other BrightRollers in Phoenix. It was an incredible and very inspiring experience.
- Took Portuguese classes.
- Went to Brazil and witnessed my home country’s fútbol team make it to the quarter finals for the first time ever in the World Cup!
- Mentored students at Hackbright Academy and CODE2040.
- Met two of the most inspirational and important women in tech: Megan Smith & Marissa Mayer.
- Found my favorite hike: Andrew Molera State Park in Big Sur, CA.
- Finally saw “The Cure” in concert!
- Ended the year visiting the Island of Puerto Rico, “La Isla del Encanto”.
- Drafted my first Medium post. ☺
