How I welcome pain

[ When pain visits]

When pain revisits —
open your doors wide,
pull up the knobs of windows
and let it sneak in.
this would seem
as an act of self-destruction but
hold on
for pain will find the way to reach you
in all the form you cease to have thought of,
the very force of pushing it away
lets it come/rush in
with the force greater than yours.

[What pain demands]

Your time and attention is
what it seeks.
Sit with it like the lost lovers
entangled after the ages of
penance.

Talk with it
as the tongue that forgot its own voice,
feel it from the cause of its occurrence.

BUT,
Do not let it overstay in the place
you call ‘HOME’,

Do not let it embrace you
with the vows of eternity and forever

Do not let it flow in your veins
in any form or chemical proportion

Pick it up gently and
drive it back to its roots
for you already have had enough
stay with your visitor.

Uproot them from the core and
render peace in the space that they left

Use that space wisely.
Cultivate the garden of love and pour the water
of kindness, you came across.

Make the space so wild so new
that the next time when pain enters,
it already forgets the place to reach you.
