Today, distinctive indie pop duo The Born Love drops their first EP Strange Days, which consists of four tracks that are vibrant and germane and is available on all streaming platforms. It’s been a long journey for Kevin Daniel and Aron Forbes, but after several years of working together, they are letting their well-established relationship and seasoned collaborating shine bright in this inaugural record.

The two initially crossed paths in Los Angeles, where they were introduced by a producer. Kevin was a burgeoning solo artist and Aron was garnering a solid reputation as a session musician. Despite Kevin being an Ohio native and Aron being L.A.-based, their friendship grew and Kevin migrated to the West Coast, where he moved in with Aron and his wife. The rest is history as they say. I recently spoke with Kevin about their new EP.

Sonya Alexander: How and why did you guys form the band?

Kevin Daniel: Well, when I moved in with Aron, I told him, ‘I really want to start a band that’s a true creative collaboration. Beyond that, all I know is I want it to be with you.’ We’ve both always wanted to have a band that consisted of playing with our best friends and four years ago we made this dream a reality.

SA: How did this EP come together?
