SOON is the most efficient rollup stack delivering top performance to every L1, powered by Decoupled SVM.

We are excited to announce the launch of the SOON Devnet, a significant milestone that marks a rapid progression in the development of the SOON Stack & SOON Mainnet. Designed to give the users a glimpse of what we have been working on, the Devnet is now live and ready for public testing.

The SOON Vision

“Why do we build SOON?”

As our Co-founder & CEO Joanna Zeng notes:

“Having worked in EVM & AltVM space has led me to realize that although we have advanced the promise of blockchain technology, we still haven’t come close to the holy grail — USER ADOPTION. So ‘where do we see the most user adoption?’ question led me to Solana, with a dev community heads down ‘chewing glass’ to build dope-ass dapps, not just grant farmers hopping around. Witnessing the Solana ecosystem’s resilience and SVM’s efficiency, I am convinced that the future of crypto mass adoption hinges on 1. differentiated tech stack and 2. builder culture that rewards experimentation & usability (vs TVL).

We’re not just another undifferentiated infra.

We’re ending the infra research era by bringing the gold standard to every L1, so devs can focus on building best UX instead of doing years of research trying to fit their apps within chain limitations (example: dydx).

With SOON, we aim to be the most efficient rollup while reducing costs & raising performance by 10X in every eco, relative to the highest performing EVM, complimented by a culture friendly towards non-Solana devs.”

To summarize it into one sentence:

SOON is challenging the status quo. We’re on a mission to bring not only Solana’s top-performing VM, but Solana’s high quality builder culture to every L1 eco.

SOON Devnet: What to Expect

The SOON Devnet provides developers with a unique chance to engage with our early-stage architecture and contribute to its evolution. In the next iteration, you can expect the implementation of our decoupled SVM, a key feature that will greatly enhance both the performance and security of the network. We have already outlined the details of this implementation, including the SVM decoupling and derivation process, in our recently published article.

Here’s what you can do on the SOON Devnet:

Bridge Assets to SOON Devnet:

Deposit via Sepolia: Developers can now deposit ETH from the Sepolia testnet into the SOON Devnet directly on the SOON Bridge UI. This feature allows you to test the seamless transaction process.

Withdraw: In addition to deposits, you can also withdraw ETH from the SOON Devnet back to the Sepolia testnet.

Explore Devnet Block Explorer:

The SOON Devnet includes a fully functional block explorer. This tool allows you to track and verify your transactions on the network, providing transparency and insights into the high performance and low latency that the SOON Stack offers.

Deploy Smart Contracts:

Developers can now deploy their smart contracts directly on the SOON Devnet. By deploying smart contracts on the SOON Devnet, developers can experience firsthand the high-performance environment that SOON provides, enabling rapid iteration and testing of their dApps.

Get Sepolia Testnet ETH via SOON Faucet

To help devs get started on the SOON Devnet, we are offering a faucet that provides Sepolia testnet ETH, which is necessary for conducting transactions on the Devnet.

SOON Faucet: https://faucet.soo.network/

There are a few prerequisites to access the faucet:

  1. Connect your X(Twitter) account.
  2. Post a tweet about SOON.
  3. Join our Discord Channel: You need to join our official discord where you'll find the latest updates and community support.

4. Mainnet Address Requirement: Your Ethereum mainnet address must have a minimum balance of 0.001 ETH to qualify for the Sepolia testnet ETH from the faucet. This ensures that only serious developers and testers are accessing the resources.

Get Started on the SOON Devnet

We invite you to begin testing the SOON Devnet today and get a firsthand look at the next generation of rollup technology. This is an opportunity to engage with a cutting-edge, efficient, and secure stack, setting the stage for the future of scaling EVM with SVM. Your early feedback is vital in refining the platform and shaping the integration of innovative features like the upcoming decoupled SVM.

The launch of our Devnet marks the beginning of an exciting journey towards the full realization of the SOON Stack’s potential. We look forward to your feedback as we continue to refine and enhance our platform.
