The new 9.7-inch iPad released back in the spring now supports Apple’s excellent pressure-sensitive Pencil stylus and has a 2016-era A10 processor, which is good enough for most needs. It can handle multitasking, and it has lots of excellent accessories, including Bluetooth keyboard cases.

The iPad Pro certainly looks like it means business. After so many years of the same basic iPad design, Apple has treated us with sleek, flat, angular edges

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro represents Apple’s decision to make a tablet with absolutely everything crammed in. The best in audio performance, the cream of the company’s mobile screen tech, and all the power that can be crammed inside the metal walls of a digital slate.

So what’s the catch? Why we should spend 250 bucks off our pockets to grab it ASAP or we should switch our focus to more conventional alternative, the Surface Go?

Check out the pros and cons before you decide to pull the trigger on a purchase.

The Big reasons to go Pro.

1) The best value pick by far.

The new iPad Pro 2018 is on sale for as low as $250 ($80 off the usual list price). It’s still the best choice for the average person, especially since the new iPad Pro, even at the bare minimum configuration, costs more than twice the price.

2) Beast with a Great Display.

The Pro’s display has an up-to-120Hz display that’s smoother scrolling and has benefits for Pencil precision. The display’s more seamlessly connected to the glass, too, which helps for fine stylus work. The new iPad’s got smaller bezels and fits more screen in.

3) The Powerful A12X Processor.

The new iPad equips with Apple’s own A series chip. The new A12X processor is faster and smoother which makes multitasking a great experience. It opens the app really fast and switching more smooth.

4) The Camera and the Face ID.

The cameras are improved and they shoot 4K video, and also do Portrait Mode for front-facing. It’s basically close to the iPhone XR. The new iPad comes with the Face ID which was only limited to the iPhones.

5) The Faster USB-C Port and Side Controller.

The iPad Pro equips with the faster USB-C connects to a wide(r) variety of accessories and chargers that certainly power up the devices faster. And Apple also providing users with a side Smart Connector allows things like Apple’s Smart Keyboard Cover to attach without needing Bluetooth or separate charging.

Reasons to skip Pro

1) No Headphone Jack

Yes, you heard that right. No headphone jack. After the iPhones, Apple is done with the headphone jack in iPad too. If you want to use a 3.5mm audio jack with one of the new models, then you will need one of Apple’s USB-C to 3.5mm dongles. iPad users will need to join the dongle life.

2) Accessories jack up the price

At first glance, the iPad seems affordable with its $329 sticker price, but the costs start to add up when you throw in accessories that some will deem must-haves. For example, if you were to buy the base-model Wi-Fi iPad and then tack on the iPad Smart Cover and Apple Pencil, that would bring the total to $467. Want to add a Bluetooth keyboard? Now you’re up to $567.

3) Doesn’t support Apple keyboard

Because the 9.7-inch iPad lacks a physical keyboard connector, it does not support Apple’s own Smart Keyboard. Fortunately, there are a number of third-party wired keyboards that leverage the iPad’s Lightning connector, as well as several Bluetooth keyboards.

That was our evaluation on Apple iPad Pro 2018. So what do you guys think?
