Memory
How good would it be if our memory were a physical object rather than a mental one?
The good thing is, if you want to get rid of the unwanted memory, you can simply put it in a box and have it properly wrapped or latched, and then you can fling it nonchalantly into your attic. Why don’t throw it away? In case you want to rekindle your painful memory, you can get it back promptly. Alternatively, you can vigorously cast it into the horizontally endless ocean, and let the rouge wave aimlessly drift it to the far-flung corner of the world or submerge it until it sinks to the seabed so that it will magically vanish from your sight as if it had never belonged to you or existed in your entire life.
The bad thing is, if our good memory were tangible, it could be stolen or plundered by happiness snatchers along the streets. And, if not taken care gingerly, it could be lost by you yourself.
You can’t safeguard your cherished memory day and night. Therefore, it’s a reasonably reasonable reason that it should be mental not physical.
See? How lucky we are!
