Hey David,

I really liked the analogy with fruit cake — made the argument sing. This is something I have been fascinated with for a while (humanistic urban design that is, not fruit cake — although I do enjoy that too). It’s the human scale of built environments that make them work for humans, like laneways and cafes and people being able to walk around the streets with comfort and ease, with shade and places to potter and loiter, enabling all sorts of human interactions, where kids and dogs and birds can thrive too.
