And yes, we are dangerously underrepresented. Only 15% of engineering positions at top tech firms — the ones that are taking over the world — are filled by women. This means women are being left behind as the power dynamic shifts in the labor force. Additionally, studies have shown that engineering teams that include women actually perform better on their metrics across the board than teams that only include men. When women are underrepresented, everyone loses.
