Sometimes people act in certain ways that you’ll never understand. Sometimes you think somebody is something to you but they do certain things that change everything. We spend so much time building relationships with one another that sometimes we end up losing ourselves. Who are you? As a person, as a friend, as a best friend, as a daughter or a son, as a confidant, as a secret-keeper, as a student, as a lover? Who we are and what defines you as you becomes less and less about you but more and more about the people in your life. Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. It is good, and perhaps even noble, to not be self-centred but giving — giving in terms of your time, money, emotion etc ….
