CS371p Fall 2018: Abdullah Abualsoud (AJ Soud)

Week of 27 Aug — 2 Sep

1. What did you do this past week?

This past week was hectic. I spend most of my time last week basically trying to regroup and get ready for my anticipated semester’s workload. I believe I have a heavy load this semester, but it should be doable if I put in the time. I am still assessing the situation, but I am excited about all the CS classes I am attempting this semester.

2. What’s in your way?

What is in the way for the moment is mainly logistics: acquiring access to assigned textbooks and school supplies. Other than that, I need to schedule my time to make sure I have a smooth semester. I hope nothing comes up to through me off the plan/schedule once in place. I know! I am wishful!

3. What will you do next week?

Next week is going to be busy with mostly school work I hope. I hope to stay on top of the readings for all my classes and start early with all the programming projects. There is also a few scattered loose ends (life matters) that I would love to wrap up. I also hope to meet and get to know more of my classmates and hopefully form early teams for those classes that require that.

4. What are your expectations of the class?

I am really excited to sit in professor’s Downing class again. I am sure I will learn much more than I expect. But for the sake of answering the question, I hope to learn the ins and outs of C++. I think I would be very happy if, perhaps, I can describe my C++ skill-level as proficient by the end of the class. Of course, the experience gained from working on the projects will always be a plus.

5. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is to mange your time wisely. Read the all syllabi for the classes you signed up for, keep up with the assigned readings, and start your programming assignments early. Good luck!
