RMS Living Luminizer + Lip2Cheek
So before I start this post, I should first talk about my how I started getting into makeup so that I can make this post somewhat credible. (I’ll get into how I got into hair when I post about a hair product later.) I started to mess with my mom’s makeup at a very young age. (My mom hated it cause I would ruin her stuff.) I didn’t actually start wearing it out in public until I was in the 5th grade. Over time, I started to figure out what I liked and didn’t like, what worked and didn’t work on my skin and that’s where I started to grow my knowledge in makeup. I started to do makeup for my friends for high school dances. I’ve recently started getting into bridal hair and makeup, which has lead me into researching more about different products and such. The reason for starting this blog is for one, many girls has been asking me different questions about makeup and hair so I thought blogging would be a good start in sharing my knowledge with them, and two, I just like it. It’s become a hobby for me that I genuinely enjoy and want to get better at. And also just to get it straight, I’m not a professional. I’m an enthusiast. I don’t know everything about makeup and hair. There definitely is a science behind it for every individual. There are products and methods that fit specifically for every individual face and hair so products that work for some, might not work for others. So with that said, let’s begin with my first post!

I’ve been wanting to buy these products for a while now. I’ve heard such great things about RMS products that I knew I just had to try it. These are my first cream-based products so application is a little different compared to powdered-based highlighter and blush. I’ll lay out a step by step process of how to apply it. In the end, you’ll see the overall look and I’ll lay out what these products are meant to do.

1. Here, I’ve put foundation and powder on to set the base for the highlighter and blush. You don’t always need foundation for a base. If you’re low maintenance and don’t use foundation , you can just use the highlighter and blush on bare face. Just make sure you moisturize!

2. Start with the blush. I’ve got the Lip2Cheek in Modest. This is probably the safest color to go with if you’re starting out. It’s a pretty rosy pink. Dab a little on your finger like I’ve done in the picture above. Remember a little goes a long way!

3. Apply the product on the apples of your cheek. I like to dab it in a line because generally, I’m going to stroke it outward. Continue stroking it out until you got your cheeks covered with the product.

4. Sorry, the colors a little off (I used my iPhone), but you see that my cheek is evenly coated with the product. Hopefully you can tell in the before and after picture that the blush actually enhances my natural cheek color. The color shouldn’t look like it’s concentrated in one area. You want to apply it to make it look as natural as possible.

5. Like I did with the blush, I’m going to dab a little on a different finger than the one I used for the blush. This highlighter isn’t going to be as poppy or shimmery as some other highlighters so don’t expect it shine bright like diamond. Like literally.

6. Dab the highlighter like you did with the blush and spread the product on the cheekbone. Try to spread it out in a line rather than covering the entire cheek. You want the highlighter to reflect the light on the highest part of your cheeks. You can also put some highlighter right below your eyebrow and that’ll bring dimension to them. (And like I always says, your eyebrows make you or break you honey. Mhmm.)

7. You can also add the highlighter on the tip of the nose to give you a dewy look and you can add it in the inner corners of your eyelid. I actually love using the Living Luminizer for the inner eyelids because it brightens up your eyes without looking too flashy like some other highlighters do. I also added the blush on my lips to show you that the color is basically “my lips but better.” This isn’t the greatest quality picture but you should be able to see that these products gives you a natural finish. The products used actually looks better over time. However, if you’re looking for products that will last all day, these probably aren’t going to be a winner just because these products are organic so they’re going to fade faster throughout the day.
Overall, I’m really enjoying these products. I’ll probably use these on a daily basis whereas I’ll probably opt for other products that are more potent in formula or brighter for more special occasions.
