Community Building; Fortifying Your Foundation.

Last week, I wrote a few nuggets on building blocks and how they could be essential to your growth as a creative. This week, we proceed to fortifying your building blocks and stabilizing the foundation on which you plan to build.

Most creatives tend to abandon their building blocks in an attempt to get blown overnight, and this often sets you on a cliffhanger. One wrong move and you’re back to the bottom. So, if you have identified your building blocks, why not nurture them?

If you’ve been tasked to grow a plant before, you would know that everything starts from a little seed. You water it every day till it sprouts, then you position it in a place to attain adequate sunlight daily while caring for it appropriately. The same should be done for your day ones. Nurture this audience, feed them and give them enough of you so they can in turn, spread your gospel.

You cannot build a solid community with a shaky foundation. This is why you do not neglect your building blocks in an attempt to boost off. If you nurture them right and solidify your hold on them, they in turn, would boost your growth and keep you grounded when the noise tries to overwhelm your art.

Life is an endless cycle of give and take. If you don’t give, best believe there would be nothing to take eventually. So, buckle up and pour into your building blocks so they can pour back into your crusade of community building. Word of mouth is still one of the foremost methods of marketing and these set of individuals are the perfect candidates to carry your torch for you.

Do not lose sight of the bigger picture and grow with your community by nurturing them. Fortify your building blocks and watch your art stand the test of time.
