Thanks for stopping in and sharing feedback Gail and Karen. Achieving a state of deep reader capture in the moment, with a provocative idea or a turn of phrase, feels accessible. To sustain that for an entire story, chapter or book? Daunting. But intriguing.
I remember it happening to me as a reader 3 times in my youth: Tolkien’s LOTR; Richard Adams’ Watership Down; and Michener’s Hawaii. I was consumed for days on end. And no quick hits happening there. Each was a marathon in its own right.
