Here are some suggestions for maintaining relationships:

1. Do not confuse love with partnership.

Partnership is a decision. Love finds us. In a partnership, one can and should negotiate (roles, tasks, rights etc.). But there is no contract for love, no guarantee. A right to ‘contract loyality’ is only for partnerships. Not for the love. A relationship swings between these two poles. Love makes the partnership difficult but also exciting. Without partnership, one can hardly reconcile love with the demands of everyday life.
