08/25 | TAMPA, FL. — “ A legally blind homeowner shot his nephew Sunday night after he broke into his home, police said. ”

08/25 | LAFAYETTE, LA. — “Police say a Lafayette man shot and killed Demouchet, whom he saw allegedly breaking into his home Sunday night.”

08/25 | CHANNELVIEW, TX — “A burglary suspect is dead, after neighbors foiled a break-in in the Channelview area.”

08/25| BUFFALO CITY, WI. — “ A Buffalo County woman fired multiple shots at intruders to end a reported home invasion suspected to be a targeted assault, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department.”

08/25| SAN ANTONIO, TX. — “ A man who San Antonio police described as a suspect in a possible home invasion has been taken to a hospital after suffering a gunshot wound.”

08/25 | DENVER, CO. — “ Two people broke into a home in the 7000 block of East Exposition Avenue early Monday morning, and Denver Police say they took off with a person’s vehicle after being confronted by the homeowner.”

[FOLLOW UP] 08/25 | WESTMINSTER, CO. — “ The Adams County District Attorney’s Office said Monday no charges will be filed against a security guard who shot and killed a man outside an apartment complex in Westminster earlier this month.”

08/25 | HOUSTON, TX. — “Houston police said an armed convenience store clerk not only foiled an attempted robbery, but wound up putting the would-be robber in the hospital. Police said the man was shot in the neck while trying to rob a convenience store at the intersection of Almeda-Genoa and Rowlett.”

08/ 25 | CLAXTON, GA. — “Surveillance video shows the suspect approach the counter, pull out a hand gun, and start waving it around. Patel then reaches under the counter and pulls out his own gun.

The suspect ran and Patel is seen on video chasing him out of the store. Patel said the suspect’s gun went off as he ran toward the self storage business next door. Patel said he’d do it again if he had to.”

08/26 | PALM BEACH, FL. — “ The 89-year-old decorated World War II veteran foiled an armed robbery attempt Saturday afternoon at his Lake Park jewelry business that left a 44-year-old suspect with six gunshot wounds, but no loot.”

08/26 | OMAHA, NE. — “ A 29-year-old man is in a hospital after being shot by a homeowner who said he feared for his family’s safety during an attempted burglary early Tuesday morning.”

08/26 | HOUSTON, TX. — “ “I was sleeping in, trying to get my rest. I heard the door bell ring. I’m like, who is this? I hear a strong knock. I’m like, something going on. I get up, I hear stuff at the door, I’m like, something is happening. I went and got my gun,” said Quinton Wood.”

08/26 | OKEECHOBEE, FL. — “ A man’s quick thinking and shooting ability saved his neighbor from a possible attack by two aggressive pit bulls, indicated a deputy’s report.”

08/27 | DOVER, DE. — “ Authorities dropped charges Tuesday against a 32-year-old man accused in connection with the second of two shooting deaths in Dover on Sunday.”

08/27 | HUNTSVILLE, AL. — “ An off duty Madison police officer turn the odds in his favor during an attempted robbery Wednesday morning.”

08/27 | SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC. — “ Spartanburg Police said today that a raccoon shot on the porch of a Sylvan Drive home has tested positive for rabies and are advising residents to make sure their pets are vaccinated.”

08/28 | ALBUQUERQUE, NM. — “ Deputies say a Dairy Queen employee shot and killed a robber Thursday night.”

08/29 | LANCASTER, OH. — “Dinah Burns is licensed to carry a concealed gun, but she’d only recently started taking her weapon while walking her dog.

Based on what happened, it looks like she’ll make a point of carrying from now on.”

[FOLLOW UP] 08/29 | DUNCAN, OK. — “ A jury found a Duncan physician not guilty on Friday of assault and battery with a deadly weapon in the shooting last year of his ex-wife’s boyfriend.”
