Why you should never point out someone’s “imperfections”

Beauty and perfection is what almost everyone strives toward these days and now with the kind of technology and makeup available in the market, it’s almost a sin to have anything look slightly out of place. I, myself, spend a good forty five minutes to doll up every morning just to attend class. I just cannot step out without feeling like I look presentable. It’s almost an obsession.

But even after all this effort, one comment (even if meant to be taken with a pinch of salt) is enough to ruin your vibe for the rest of the day. Depending on the extent of the damage, sometimes it even lasts over several days.

Is all of this really necessary? Is it necessary to put someone down for something they have no control over? Now, I’m not saying you can’t point out a bloody nose. Or a lipstick mark on the cheek. Maybe missing eyeliner from an eyelid. Anything that can be modified within five minutes of stating it is perfectly okay, but other than that, it is unacceptable. No one needs that kind of negativity.

Some people actually find it easier to point out the flaws than to compliment and that’s just sad to be honest. A genuine compliment can go a long way, it’s something that we cherish for all our lives. It gives a positive impression of who you are as a person and it makes the other person happy too.

Spread more love, guys. There isn’t enough of that in the world. Kindness is a small act of selflessness that will never let you down.
