Pizza Bread (soft bread)

It’s the September School Holidays and my 4 monsters are at home! My eldest son felt like eating pizza and requested to make and teach the other three on pizza making, claiming that he is so “experienced”! (been to Pastamania pizza-making session for his school field trip)

Since it is a “free” day, this can be an activity for the little hands to get some workout, and also they get to have it for their teabreak, hence I agreed! They were all so happy making this pizza! It was really simple as we made the dough using a bread machine! Just have to throw everything (weigh everything in the bread pan) and wait and then you have your dough!

Here’s the video of kids making the pizza bread : https://youtu.be/3G9-8Iurpqc

We just place the ingredients in the following order and it can make 6–7pizzas:

280g bread flour

20g cake flour

20g milk powder

150g fresh milk

1 egg

1/2 tsp salt

60g sugar

30g oil

1 1/2 tsp yeast

Directions:

  1. Place the above ingredients in the order above and used the “dough” function on the bread machine. It took 1.5 hours for mine. (Alternatively, you can use a mixer with a hook to mix the ingredients and let it proof for 1.5 hours.)
  2. Remove the dough from the bread machine. Knead on floured surface till smooth and elastic.
  3. Split the dough into 6–7 portions, flatten it out and let it rise for about an hour, cover with cling wrap.
  4. Spread the ingredients you wish to put on your pizza (My kiddos used: Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce, Sliced button mushrooms, Honey baked ham, Fresh pineapple & Mozzarella cheese)
  5. Egg wash the sides that are not filled with pizza ingredients.
  6. Bake at 170 degrees celcius for 15–18 minutes.
  7. Eat it hot!
