Streaming Music is Ripping You Off

I have a question. Spotify allows you to store music offline and then play it without talking back to their service. You only actually have to go online once a month..

You talk about “streams” but I listen to the vast majority of my Spotify music from my offline playlists, which doesn’t stream the music (saves bandwidth)… I wonder how (and if) Spotify count these plays in their calculations…

Assuming that the artists do earn their 0.007 from these “plays” – this would mean that for Silent September, people could add their Indie band of choice to an offline playlist on Spotify and then loop it with no bandwidth outlay on their part at all?
