Spacefy recently appeared on InnerSpace to discuss the marketplace for Toronto artist rental space and how to use the platform to find and book a creative space. The tour of three spaces was so inspiring that host Ajay Fry used one of the spaces to shoot his own short film.

The first stop was King West staple UG3, which has hosted video shoots, photo shoots, album launch parties, private events and now a TV segment. Spacefy co-founders Alyas and Judeh explained how Spacefy is a service which connects creative people with space for different creative projects, and how any space can be a creative space. Ajay had his own idea for a creative meetup — a huge game of Dungeons and Dragons. Luckily for him we have plenty of basements on our platform to rent.

Next, InnerSpace went to see the very first space listed on Spacefy — Musideum. This is one of Toronto’s best kept secrets, not only because they sell a variety of unique instruments that can only be found in one of the best small music venues Toronto has to offer, but also because everyone is welcome to pick up an instrument and play it (as Ajay aptly demonstrated).

The tour ended with a visit to the stunning Converted Steeple Penthouse, a condo built in a church steeple available for film and photography shoots. Ajay was in fact so inspired by the space, that he shot his own short horror film in the location (though we don’t recommend doing so alone, or at night).
