The Space Ark in all its glory

Welcome, Space Ark Crew! NiftyWhale here, providing some updates. Now that our animation and marketing efforts are underway, expect more consistent updates from us on our Roadmap and where things are headed.

  1. What’s your outlook on the project?
I’m extremely optimistic on the long-term view. We’ve set up our marketing and animation strategy, and now it’s time to get to work. One point that I’m extremely aware of is that the NFT space has skewed expectations on short-term payoff and the opportunity cost of ETH investments into certain projects. Now that the longer-term efforts have been ironed out, I’ll be devoting most of my time and efforts to generate value for token holders in the short term to keep the momentum going.
  2. Why did you raise royalties, and why are you donating half of royalties to charities?
To start, here are the current metrics that the team is focusing on: Floor Price, Weekly Volume, and Money Donated to Charity. Some may look at this and ask, “why is money donated to charity an important metric for the team?” Firstly, a project that revolves around charity and having a positive impact on the world has real tangible value. It gives members of the community a cause to rally around and aspire towards, rather than merely “making each other rich.” Secondly, to be completely transparent, it makes sense from a marketing perspective. It’s MUCH easier to get picked up by media or other publications if we eventually get to the point of donating $100k+ monthly to various charities. Charity is a core part of Space Poggers identity and execution of the project. We won’t simply be donating and making announcements once in a while about it — we’ll be completely gamifying the mechanic, and setting up proper incentive structures and providing visibility through live updates on our website. Impact will be visible and at the forefront of our actions. The charity donations will be strongly tied to any future tribe events we have planned. The goal is that participating in the Space Poggers community is a unique experience that no other NFT project can offer.
  3. How do you plan on allocating funds from secondary sales?
All royalties from secondary sales go towards marketing, creating and distributing merchandise, and paying other members of the team. For me personally (NiftyWhale), I have no intention of even thinking about paying myself from royalties until the floor of this project is at least 1 ETH. That’s how strongly I believe in the future of the project. I will forgo all short-term gains to provide maximum value to all members of the Space Ark Crew (if this wasn’t apparent enough by our Tesla Giveaway, $30k of ETH distributed for our competition, etc.)
  4. Any other news you can share?
Expect animations to come out this month. Expect announcements regarding merch to come out this month. Expect us to be nimble and pivot our roadmap as necessary in order to provide maximum value to everyone. We won’t be married to a roadmap that we think won’t be successful — we’ll continually find the best course of action to fly the Space Ark to the moon.

Finally, the biggest news: the Space Poggers supply is now deflationary.

Starting today, a % of royalties may periodically be used to fund the Space Poggers “Black Hole” mechanic, which will buy up Poggers and throw them forever to the void of spacetime. The Poggers in this wallet will never be sold or available to the public ever again. Currently, there are 1000 tokens for each tribe (excluding Zero.) We envision a future where some day tribes may only have 500 tokens each (or less!) which will drive increased value and bring dedicated tribe members closer together. The OpenSea value of 12.4k total supply will never change (since we’re unable to burn the tokens), but we will implement tracking how many of each tribe member is left on our website in the future.

We’ll adjust the metric of how we determine which Poggers will get sucked into the Black Hole over time. For our first experiment, we’ll take the tribe with the highest floor and spend 2 ETH buying up the floor of that tribe.

We’ll make an announcement before Poggers are sucked into the Black Hole forever, and make an update on the total remaining count of that tribe. We’ll try to implement the Black Hole mechanic in a semi-predictable cadence, but also try to wait for optimal gas prices. We’re experimenting here, so bear with us.

Lastly, some members of the Space Poggers Discord community has proven themselves to be some of the funniest, talented, and uplifting people I’ve met in the NFT space. The Space Poggers team is certainly not perfect, but you all have stuck with us through the ups and downs. We couldn’t ask for a better group of people to embark on an ambitious moon expedition with.

Thanks,
NiftyWhale
