Around this time last year, I was celebrating one year at Spark Capital. As our first Director of Marketing & Community, I joined to build a community and resources for our entrepreneurs and to deepen our relationships with the startup community.

Time has really flown. Only a few weeks after my second Spark anniversary and many events, resources, and introductions later, I’m excited to announce my new teammate, Elisabeth Rosario, who is joining Spark as our Director of Communications based in our NYC office. You can learn more about her on our website.

Elisabeth and I were introduced by a mutual contact who thought we might get along and find opportunities to collaborate. At the time, Elisabeth was the Managing Director at Astrsk PR and was already working with a few Spark Capital portfolio companies. She was also supporting Female Founders Fund pro bono and hosting popular dinners connecting techies and journalists on both coasts. We had a great conversation about creating warm and delightful events where people can connect in meaningful ways, diversity in tech and VC, startup PR, and our mutual love of dogs (because they’re just so cute). We grabbed coffee a few weeks later and realized we could really help each other out.

As the second person on our Marketing & Community team, Elisabeth will play a crucial role in supporting the Spark team and our growing community of imaginative entrepreneurs. Elisabeth has helped to launch more than 100 startups and was an early employee at two tech PR firms whose hiring and marketing approaches she shaped. She’ll bring her communications expertise to the table, as well as her genuine excitement for connecting like-minded innovators through memorable in-person experiences.

We’re really looking forward to teaming up with Elisabeth. Please welcome her!
