It’s been a full year since Google released its last first-party smartphone. That was a major change of pace after years of making Nexus devices in partnership with other OEMs. However, it appears that change is here to stay. In an exclusive interview with Android Authority, Dave Burke confirmed that there are no plans to release another Nexus smartphone. Even so, Burke stressed that there will be many ways for consumers to get pure Android moving forward — with some of those options having little to do with smartphones. . . .

The Phone’s Price Tag

The phone is expected to cost $750 — which puts it squarely in competition with Apple’s high-end phones. There are no prices yet on its cases, which also come in a variety of colors. You can sign up to be notified when it goes on sale here . The case is available for preorder now on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile starting at $45. The Pixel Stand wireless charger works with iPhone 8/8 Plus or newer models and starts at $79. It will ship later this year.
