My $70 Education

I recently listened to an episode of The Tim Ferriss Show featuring Seth Godin. Regardless of what you think of what I’m about to say, I highly recommend you give it a listen. Seth made one point that’s really stuck with me since hearing it: books are massively underpriced when you consider their impact. They’re an absolute steal.

In my (short) life, friends & family have gifted me relatively few books, but several of them have upended my life in very significant ways. Here are a few of my favorites:

Each of these five books cost between $12.99 and $17.99 on Amazon. Together, they cost about $70. I’ve spent $70 on pants before, and let me tell you, they did not change my life like these books did. I’d argue that entire quarters of college did not change my life in the way these five books have. Not everyone can afford a college education, but I figure far more can afford one that costs $70.

That’s my list, but I’d like to hear yours — add it as a response! After all, I read all five of those books for the first time over five years ago. No only am I ready for a new $70 education, but I figure others might be interested too.

🎉 🍻 ❤️ — Andy
