Tom, this is great. Here are a few other resources for anyone who wants to read further:
Kindle 100%. If I read on paper, I’m likely to lose everything I highlight. I schedule time to read from 9–10pm almost every night, but I only do it 1/2 the time. I read a book at lunch 2x / wk., and usually read for a few hours on the weekends.
The vast majority of these blogs are focused on Silicon Valley & the USA. There are a few here who are European VCs. If you come across investors who blog on investing in emerging markets, let me know, and I’ll add them to my list.
I recommend following as many people as you can stand on this list and making your mind up about who is worth following yourself. Personal favorites of mine who are diversity advocates are Ben Horowitz & Charles Hudson (not an active blogger, but you can read about his firm here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/news/2017/01/11/charles-hudson-precursor-ventures-diversity/96446316/)
Hi Suzi, a number of people have reached out asking similar questions re: challenges faced by women & minority founders. I’d love to cover the topic, but I’m not exactly an expert on the subject. Would you be willing to contribute?
As for social impact startups, we don’t have anything planned, but we could do a section — if we have a contributor!
