Cold-Hearted

A poem

You turn away and hide the faults

You continue to add to the pain

My pain

Your pain is my pain yet you don’t understand

I try to keep you happy but you scowl and look away

Can you not see I am hurting trying to help you

I love you and care for you

I am your mother your caregiver

I am you

Please look at me don’t turn away

Please take the time to tell me the pain

Please let me hold you and tell you its okay

Stop turning me away.
